Snap to any O-ring or strap on your float tube, unzip the storage bag and the 1-pound anchor and line winder drop out. Catches on winder to permit easy depth adjustment. The twisted nylon line is rated at more than 150-pound test.

I just received two of these - way too heavy. Not at all necessary if you understand proper anchoring technique. I will pay a premium to find a pair of the original Outcast anchors - the lighter and trimmer ones. Thanks.

Have used this anchor system for two fishing seasons now. Both myself and one of my fishing buddies has one, and we've both had problems. On small ponds with little wind, the anchor is sufficient to pretty much keep you in the same place for a while. It is nice to have a spool to wind the twine - however the notch designed to hold the line is not enough to prevent the spool from peeling out line as soon as any tension is put on the system. An easy fix for me was simply tieing a quick release knot to one of the Drings on my boat. The bag itself was useless, the zipper failed on the 3rd trip and there is no way to keep everything in the bag. My buddies anchor broke the clasp that keeps the spool attached to the inside of the storage bag. overall a good idea, just not fully thought out or built properly. Just as easy to buy a spool and get a heavier anchor and store in one of your float/pontoon pockets.

I purchased this anchor system for use with my float tube. As soon as I took this item out of it's packaging I was immediately disappointed. The actual product appeared to made of cheap junk. The anchor itself is a puny 1lbs. claw foot type ahcnor. The "high strength rope" or whatever the manufacturers call it is actually cheap gardening twine. The only thing that was similar to the picture off of the website is the yellow, plastic, spool that holds the twine neatly while not in use. The first fishing trip that I used this product was a disaster. The anchor couldn't/wouldn't catch on anything so it was incapable of accomplishing it's only purpose, but the misery didn't end with that. The twine that comes with this anchor system is so thin that once it got wet it became impossible to handle, and forget about controlling the amount of line that you want out because with this "system" you only have 2 choices. All of the line out OR none of the line out. Presently, The line and it's winder is hanging in my basement waiting for my wife to use it for tying up her tomato plants this spring, and as for the anchor I'm going to give it just one more chance. If it fails to catch on the bottom this time I'll melt it down and make lead sinkers with it so that my money will not have been totally wasted. If you want my advice:DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK !!!!! IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A HEADACHE!!!
