I purchased this last year and it's done what was needed. I did find a couple things that could be improved upon. The first is the top where the fishin buddy rests could be flared out to better cradle the unit. The second problem is while paddling the unit tips. It won't dump the unit in the water but you don't get a vertical reading. I found the problem is the strap needs to be secured to the holder tube better. Maybe like the rod holders are designed. Currently I have made a custom system for my float tube that allowed me to attach the holder in a permanent spot and also made it rigid. Would've given 4 stars if either issue listed were not present.

Best way to get advantage over the fish.

With the holster you get a very functional way to mount your "Fishing Buddy" fish finder/depth finder to your float tube or pontoon boat. It definatly gives you an advantage when trying to find the fish. Unfortunatly it does not help you select the correct bait or fly to use.

I bought this for a my buddy 110, and I installed it on a Creek Company pontoon boat. Mounted so it hangs on the inside of the pontoon by my leg. Works great there. Still didn't hold it or keep it from moving about while in motion. Modified the hodler with a velco strap I made, and now can troll wide open with the trolling motor and it doesn't move, very solid. It just takes a little modification on your part, and it will work great.
