Made my first dozen with the Arizona mini with Blazer Vanes. Perfect Arrows. Nice helical. I had been using the regular Arizona Carbon jig. Also have a Bitzenburger jig that I will probably never use again. Takes too much time and doesn't do as nice of a job. but the new mini really does a nice job. It's quick and easy. Just go easy on the glue.
I fletch a few dozen arrows every year, and I can't say enough good about the Arizona EZ-Fletchers.
I have 3 each of both Carbon and Aluminum bases, plus 3 arm sets for each (helical, straight, and off-set#. In general, I use 2 or 3 EZ-fletchers at a time. By the time I get 2 or 3 arrows assembled, the first one is dried enough to pull out of the jig so I can start over with that jig #assembly line style, cycling through 2 or 3 fletchers).
The EZ-Fletchers are SO FAST! I used single vane jigs for years, including a Jo-Jan 6 arrow jig. Using a single jig, 12 arrows took me about 3hrs, using a 6 arrow jig, 12 arrows takes about an hour and a half. With one EZ-fletcher, I can fletch 12 arrows in about an hour, with 2 fletchers working, I can fletch 12arrows in under 30min!!!
Some guys criticize the EZ-fletchers because they don't know how to adjust their vane position on the shaft with the EZ. I personally use small document clamps on the outside of the arms on the tip of the vanes to hold them in place, or a piece of clear scotch tape on the inside as a stop. It goes very smoothly, and again, is 3-6x faster than using conventional "one vane at a time" jigs!
First time fletching and it definitely made it easy. After doing a few arrows and not thinking i needed to clean it was the wrong answer. To do it right i clean mine after every three or four arrows. All i do is soak it in a cup of acetone for 30 min and its like brand new. So long as the arms move freely and you can control them this thing for sure works. After using it a couple times i got it down and now my arrows look good. The glue is the only thing you got to work with. It takes a while to figure out how much glue to really use but that is operator error. will definitely use this far into the future. Works awesome with Fusion vanes.
This thing is easy!! Never done fletching till now and I dont think it can get any easier. I did a dozen arrows in just over an hour. First arrow turned out perfect.
