The Carbon fletch is made specifically for carbon arrows. The helical with 6° offset model is recommended for shoot-around-type arrow rest. Fletch three vanes from 2-1/4" to 5" at the same time. This fletcher will not work with arrows over 20/64 diameter.
With my old single vane jig, it took me 3hrs to fletch 12 arrows (waiting 5min each for the glue on each vane to dry, 3 fletches per arrow, times 12arrows). With 2 bohning jigs, it still would take me about 2hrs, because I had to handle every vane one at a time.
With 2 EZ fletches, I can fletch 12arrows in less than a half hour (one hour for one EZ fletch). I close one, spend 5min gluing and setting the other one, then open the first and start over. My hands are busy the whole time, and it goes lightning fast.
I also think the helical EZ fletch is MUCH better at giving even pressure around the shaft to secure the vane than the othe helical jigs out there. Nice, even vanes, every time.
I use small document clamps on the outside of the arms to help hold the vanes in place. It's not NECESSARY, but it does help. It also lets you move the vanes farther up the shaft (not seated against the bottom of the arm).
some of the 'thicker' vanes (NAP quick spin) are a little tight due to the 'lip" but I've done 1/2 dozen, and it's quicker than one at a time, (wont use it for my feathers tho)
Ok this was my first attempt at fletching arrows. I decided to try it myself so I purchased the carbon e-z fletch. To tell you the truth I fletched a dozen carbon arrows and then compared to some of my old ones that were "professionally" fletched. I couldnt tell a difference. (note it doesnt take as much glue as you would think.) Some of the past reviews talked about glue build up. Wait for the glue to set-up and it scrapes right off.
