Surefire U2 Ultra Digital Series Light

Digital regulation and six levels of output on demand meet the specific requirements of any task. Highly versatile, this light features a 5-watt LED and delivers from 2 to 100 lumens. Choose the setting that's right for the situation whether you need high output or a long run time. Constructed of CNC machined aerospace grade aluminum with a rugged military specification hard-anodized finish for corrosion and wear-resistance. O-ring sealed. Powered by two 3-volt lithium batteries. Patented lock-out tailcap feature allows the light to be locked in the off position to prevent unintentional activation during storage or transportation. 1.47" tempered Pyrex® bezel. Lifetime guarantee. Batteries included.

I got this for a birthday 4 years ago. Every year we go on a week long excursion. 2 years ago a friend of mine got lost on a boat on the finger lakes in a bad storm. We went out with this flashlight. They said they spotted the light from, had to be, 2 miles away. Everyone made it back safe. This is a good all around flashlight. Adjustable for small jobs, very very bright for times you want to spoil yourself in the wilderness. Just bring extra batteries.

No surprise here, there is a reason Surefire lights are expensive, because they are the best lights available today. This is an easy to carry light that adjusts from low to high intensity with a turn of a dial. Left is low, turn to the right and there are five increasing levels of brightness. This is a perfect design allowing a low level or high level of light selection prior to tuning it on. The U2 is military spec and at the brightest setting provides 100+ lumens of tactical brightness. If your safety in dark areas depends on a flashlight, spend the money and get the best. Once you get one of these in your hands and try it in the dark you won't think about the price ever again.

Great light for any use

I carried this light while working for the Cal Highway Patrol and would use it often, also I am never without this light when hunting, camping or anytime it might be needed, a great light.
Some what pricey but well worth it, you will never be without it once you own one.
