These specialized LEDs emit light only in specific color spectrums, delivering a high-intensity beam that reveals true target colors. Cabela's engineering partners packaged this cutting-edge technology into these rugged, field-ready flashlights. The high-intensity, 3700° Kelvin LED chipset has a detail-defining Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 80 out of 100. This CRI rating indicates a superior true-color light source. All electronics are housed inside an O-ring-sealed chamber for complete moisture protection. The precision-molded textured nylon body provides a durable, comfortable all-weather grip. The two- stage tailcap switch positively clicks between high and low light modes. By twisting the tailcap, the light is instantly disabled for no-flash safety. Pre-focused machined aluminum reflector with tempered glass lens.

A tough light for tough conditions

This flashlight is fantastic for what it was intended for. It is designed for fog, rain, snow, and short to medium range hunting/tracking. The flashlight is bright, lightweight, durable, and has good battery life. You wouldn't use your truck's high beams in the fog, and you wouldn't use this flashlight as a long range spotlight. It was never intended to be one. Colors remain true, and night vision is affected far less than traditional LED lights. It also has double o-rings in the tailcap to prevent water from getting into the light--which was very helpful when I dropped my light in the pouring rain. Does the light have a yellow tint? Yes--it's supposed to. This XPG light does everything that a certain 3 D-cell aluminum flashlight does, at half the size, a third of the weight, and 50 times the bulb life.

Not Right Bright

I purchased the N9 light, and I am extremely disappointed with its output. I agree with the reviewer who said it reminds him of an old 2 cell incandescent flashlight; and yes, I had it set for high beam. The beam is YELLOW. I took it out on my patio and shined it toward the back yard fence about 60 yards away. There was very little definition at the edge of the pasture. I then got my little 3 AAA or 2 C132A tactical light and shined it into the same area. The N9 was totally washed out, and I don't know where the "narrow beam" business comes from.

Since the light was sent to my billing address, and all paper work was discarded by my wife, I am stuck with it. It will probably wind up in a ditty bag or in the glove box of my passenger car. It will NEVER be anywhere that I am dependent on it for bright light. I am a deep South Texas rancher, and when I step out of my vehicles at night in the pastures I must have a light that provides brilliant definition yet is compact enough to ride in a pocket and allows complete freedom of movement. This ain't it!

Fantastic General-Purpose Light

The N-Series lights are an example of what can be done in a technology-led industry when research is done into what works and what doesn't, and a product is offered what customers WILL need and WITHOUT the things they won't. As mentioned by the previous reviewers, specs such as brightness, runtime, and construction of these lights are great for the price. Also, the high/low capability is PERFECT for use in just about every lighting situation - you can buy an ultra-premium light with a premium price, but if it only has one output setting its uses are going to be limited. These lights double their usefulness by offering two levels, which was a terrific design idea.

The absolute BEST part about this light is the tint. LEDs have an impressively large list of advantages over Incandescent lights, but the one factor which most flashlight users consider a downside is that they tend to be too blueish-white in tint. For tactical use this is fine as the harsh color of most LED output will better-disable an intruder's night-adapted vision. However, as a general-use light this is not desirable because A) the user must use a harshly tinted light to see things in the dark, adversely affecting his own night vision, and B) the true color of things (color rendition) tends to be washed out under the pure/blue tint of most LEDs. This is why so many people still use Incans despite their numerous shortcomings.

By giving these lights a tint more along the lines of an incandescent light, Cabelas has created a fantastic tool for people who really rely on a light in the dark for tasks. True color is restored, and the light is a lot more "pleasant" to look at - and no, it is not "yellow" but more of a natural warm, REALISTIC light color. It has all the benefits of LEDs that I'm sure you have heard of before while remaining far more superior in terms of usefulness as a LIGHT due to the tint. As a flashlight fanatic myself, with over 30 SureFire lights and countless other premium lights, I applaud the designers of these lights for creating one heck of a all-around useful tool and for taking a giant leap in terms of flashlight design and incorporating phenomenal but far too uncommon warm LEDs in the N-Series lights. If more manufacturers would go the extra mile to purchase and use warm LEDs, incans might be phased out altogether. Great lights, great value. 5 Stars.

Great light for a great price.

I recently purchased the XPG-N6 flashlight and I have to say this is a great little light. It\u2019s not as bright as a Surefire but it\u2019s a fraction of the price plus I prefer its color range better than most other \u201ctactical style\u201d lights. Its color temp is 3700K which is more of a yellow \u201cnormal flashlight\u201d color than your typical LED bright white flashlight. For my eyes this is better, I have a hard time seeing in high contrast conditions so the warmer \u201cyellowish\u201d light actually lets me see better than a higher output white LED, which to me is a unnatural color. Take it for what it\u2019s worth if you prefer a more \u201cyellowish\u201d warmer light than this is the light for you, plus the run time on high is rated at 8 hours, this is the longest run time I have found for a light of that brightness, the light is rated a 84 lumens.
