Very bright and focused beam. Quite a lot of light for such a small (1AA) flashlight. The 80 lumen one puts out way more light than a double D light I have. The 40 was every bit as bright as a flashlight I have that use's 2 of the CR123 battery's. AA is so much cheaper. Only thing on both of mine was the wrist lanyard, I could only get 4 fingers into it, never would I be able to get it over my hand to use as a wrist lanyard. And I am 5'10, with small hands. But these are so bright, I can live with that.
I have a vast array of lights from surefire and streamlight and without a doubt this is the cleanest, most focused pure beam of light i have ever seen come from a flashlight. I bought the 80 lumen one but to me it seems like 150-160 lumen. Compared side by side to my other lights with higher lumen ratings, this one literally blows there doors off. i would have payed triple what I did for this light. Oh yeah did i mention they run on regular batteries and not the fancy and expensive lithium batteries. I dare u to buy it and not like it.
