    Simple and High Quality knife
    Date:
I went to Cabela's and looked over numerous knives they had to offer. When it comes to knives I don't believe that you need a full field dressing kit to get the job done. All you need is a solid, quality made, and quality steel knife. This is exactly what Gerber delivered.
This is more of a drop-point blade, it will work great when you're reaching under a sternum going for the esophagus. Also the grove in the handle will help improve grip when your hands are covered in bodily fluids. It's sharp enough to cut through skin as well, comes razor sharp right out of the box. The handle is made well, has nice wood grain and feels very securely fastened.
Something to note on this knife, there aren't any crevices in-between the quillion and the blade. This prevents flesh/blood/etc. from getting in there and incubating bacteria.
Over all, this is a nimble/sharp/attractive/high quality knife that won't cost you a fortune and will get almost all of your field dressing needs taken care of with ease. I know this knife will last me many years, I without a doubt recommend this product.

    Disappointingk
    Date:
I am really sad that I bought this knife. This is the first Gerber I have ever purchased that was poorly done. You can see daylight between the handle material and the tang. The bolster pieces are not the same size on each side of the blade. I can hardly believe that Gerber even made this. The fit and finish are completely unacceptable. I wish I could return it for a refund. The design of the knife is great, the execution is junk.
