Can't be beat for the price
Date:
I have the Cold Steel Pendlelton lite hunter. It came extremely sharp right out of the box. The sheath is nothing to write home about but it's pretty sturdy. The only downfall is there is no security to hold the knife in the sheath but it does fit pretty tight. The handle is plastic but it has a good feel and grip and is not going to break. This is a great hunting knife and would make an excellent gift for a beginning hunter or a seasoned vet at the sport. It's high quality and inexpensive.

Excellent Knives
Date:
I've owned the Mini and the Lite Hunter. Both are well made.
The Mini is made of excellent, thick steel and has a very nice heavy duty rubber handle and well made sheath. Like the Lite Hunter, it comes razor sharp. It is too small for my hands; the handle and guard area is only 3.25" long! I'm afraid I'd compare it to a very well made toy.
The Lite Hunter is made of the very good Krupp steel. The plastic handle looks cheap, however, I don't think you'll ever break it doing anything a hunting knife was intended to do. The Lite Hunter is one of those rare examples where good and cheaply made meet. I'm quite pleased with mine. I sold my Mini. The Lite Hunter is not as well made as a Buck fixed blade, but it will skin a deer just as well, and weigh and cost less. It will probably last just as long. The sheath is inexpensive but adequate and durable.
Final thoughts: if you want a good, inexpensive working grade knife that doesn't have to look fancy, buy this. If you want a fancy looking knife on your belt to impress your friends, look elsewhere. This knife is for the guy who skins his own game, and uses a hammer to drive nails, not the butt of the knife!
