large groups at 20 yards
Date:
Bought a set of these on clearance. Dialed in my bow with field points, then I shot the rage practice head, rage, and G5 B52s very well. Everything grouped within an inch or two of each other and getting 3 inch groups at 30 yards everytime, sometimes better. But before hunting last night, I wanted to try the XT-4s. So spin tested and found the best 3 arrows and shot 2 shot groups at 20 yards. My first arrow was hitting very well, but the 2nd arrow was hitting low 5 inches 2 times in a row. So I switched arrows, and then it shot high. I then started shooting the first one again, and it started throwing it everywhere. At 30 yards, I was lucky to get 8 or 9 inch groups with 3 arrows.
Using same arrows, switched back to B52s and the rage practice head....and shot 2 excellent 30 yard groups, so don't think it was me. Set up is a Mathews at 70 lbs. Gold Tip 5575. 28.5 inch draw

Pretty Good Broadhead
Date:
Well, I want to start with the set up. Hoyt Maxxis set at 63lbs., 27-1/2" draw and Goldtip 5575 arrows. Spun all the broadheads on shafts to make sure everything was good. Then shot at 20 yards. Hit the same spot as the feild points. Today went out to the range and tried them at 40, 50, 60 and 70 yards. Flew perfect. The only problem is the noise. They do have a loud hum to them. They were louder than the Slick Tricks I had with me. Had a companion with me that was "sheltered" down range listening. They are a little louder than I would have preferred. The cut on contact tip held up OK going thru hard plastic...I wonder about a shoulder blade? All in all would I use them for 20 to 30 yard whitetail shots? Absolutely. Would I use them for spot and stalk Mule deer? Not sure it would be a good idea with the longer shots due to the noise.

They fly true indeed!
Date:
I got these broad heads in about a week ago. I knocked the first arrow and was surprised at how close it hit to the center of my target at 20 yards. The second arrow I released cut the fleching of the first. The third arrow was released at a different point on my target but hit in the same spot. These broad heads grouped very well out of my set up with no adjustments to my sights. I'm bear hunting with my bow over bait in early September. I will re post when I have a blood trail to follow. They really do " fly true". They are also very sharp I will touch them up before I hunt with them. I"m excited to bring them out into the woods for this hunt.
