Invisa-Leader® Ball-Bearing Leader

  • Thin, strong, hand-wrapped wire leaders
  • Ball bearings ensure they won't impede lure action
  • Extra-tough Duolock snaps
These hand-wrapped leaders provide you with extra strength in an ultrathin, super-tough, flexible wire leader. They work well with action-sensitive lures like deep-diving crankbaits, and ball bearings ensure that they don't impede sensitive-action lure performance. They come with extra-tough Duolock snaps and will handle muskies, northern pike or medium to heavy saltwater fish. Per 3.
Available: 5" (18-lb. and 27-lb. test only) or 8" (18-lb., 27-lb. and 36-lb. test.)

Great thin profile leader
Date:
I use these leaders any time I'm fishing in freshwater that contain pike/pickerel. The thin profile does not affect the lure to any degree. The light weight does not change the way the lure moves thru the water. Other, heavier leaders were keeping my catch ratio low so I switched to the thinner leaders and had better success

A striking defect
Date:
I have used invisleaders before, and used to value them because of their thin profile. On our last Canadian fly-in, however, I was sorely disappointed by their performance. We lost two nice fish because of them, a twenty-pound pike and a five pound whitefish. In both instances, the leader broke at the swivel to leader connection. This was significant, because we were using 14 pound floro as a leader, which was tied by back-to-back uni knots to 10 pound fireline. The weak link was the supposedly heavier test leader. In all fairness, we caught 9 pike in the 20 pound class the year before, using the same leaders, without a mishap. I will not be using them on my next trip, prefering the more visible but sturdier Sampos.
