Cabela's Salmon/Steelhead Rod Cases

Your rod and reel can safely travel together in our quality triangle combo cases. A rigid triangular rod tube section protects the fishing rod, while a padded reel pouch secures the reel. The reel section is baffled so it can expand to accommodate larger reels, and the rear section is extended for the longer rod butts commonly found on salmon/ steelhead rods. The interior length is 55". The exterior is made of rugged Cordura® over a full-length nylon liner. The Double Case can carry two rod-and-reel combinations. Made in the USA.
Available: Single, Double.

Great Product - I Don't Understand the Fuss
Date:
I've owned my single rod model for seven years. It has stood up to airline filghts and LOTS of trips in the back of a truck. For the longest time, I used to stuff one 8' 6" Lamiglas spinning rod and one 8' 6" Lamiglas casting rod into the single bag; not recommended, it's a tight fit. When I acquired a St. Criox spinning rod, I bought the double-rod model and now each rod has its own slot / bag. I have no problems with either the single or double bag and can leave the a Shimano 5000 series spinning reel and a Shimano 4000 series spinning reel on my rods side by side inside the double-rod bag. The zippered "pouch" area also allows some gear room and enough space if you want to keep your reel off the rod and in a protective bag.
No, it will not stand up to being stepped on; I broke and replaced my first one years ago. Rod cases should not be stepped on unless they're made of metal, I guess. Also, since they're for Salmon and Steelhead rods, the bags will not fit a one-piece rod or an old-school surf rod with monster guides. The tubes are "just right" snug but fit the rods mentioned above just fine and frankly -- do you want your rods boucing around or protected?

Great case
Date:
The case works great for rods 9 foot and shorter. They need to make or stock longer rod cases for our Steelhead and Salmon rods.
