Professor Bodkin Onstream Rod Carriers

Change fishing locations easily and quickly with these new vehicle rod carriers. The magnetic model has supports with non-marring 164-pound magnets for positive attachment to your vehicle. The Magnetic/Vacuum model includes one magnetic roof support and one vacuum hood support, for vehicles without metal hoods. The double bungee-cord tie-downs secure rods to the padded support arm and will accommodate up to four fully-rigged rods. Not intended for highway use. Made in USA.

works well for holding your rods when moving from spot to spot and dont want to break down your rods. Got it for the spey rods but also use it for the shorter trout rods.

Handy Thing to Have

This is a real handy thing to have. Saves you from having to break down your rods to transport them from one site to another.
Especially handy if you drive a car instead of an SUV, and your rods won't fit inside when they are set up.

Didn't work for my kind of fishing

I've carried these on 6 Cherokee, NC fishing trips now, Cherokee is basically what I call car fishing, and I've failed to get them out of the box. Main thing is that I drive a truck with an open bed and its pretty easy to situate my fly rods in the bed while traveling up and down the stream. There's nothing wrong with them, however I did not actually use them, if you have a car or small suv and have a problem managing your rods while moving up and down stream you might want to try them. I don't think they'd be good for long distances, wouldn't trust my rods with them for that but for short, quick moves they could fit the bill for people with small cars. My fishing buddy and me fight over space in the cab as it is so for me, they're unnecessary gear/weight to haul around in an already tight cab.

Works like it says. Just make sure the area on your vehicle is clean. Cabelas shipped it fast,always do.
