The Fish-On! Rod Holders set the standard for adjustable rod holders and continues to lead the pack. Buy add-ons to rig your boat the way you like it. Available:
I bought the two pack with the alternate mount base to give 4 locations in my boat. I used them during the last fishing season for light trolling for walleye. No downrigger just trolling and pulling bottom bouncers with 8' trolling rods in shallow lakes.
I have trouble remembering to remove them to load the boat back on the trailer. On several occasions they got caught on the vertical guide on's on my boat trailer. No damage done to anything and I do not expect any problems this next season. If they were not durable I would have broken them the first time out. I fish from the boat every day that the weather permits so they are used quite often.
At the time that I bought them they had the best reviews when I was shopping and they was on sale at the time.
Mine came with the address and phone number of the manufacturer. I was under the impression that they would be there to help. I have not needed anything from them. Since I have had no problems I have made it a point to buy other boat accessories such as new boat seats that came from the same manufacturer. I have had no brand preference. Everything from this manufacturer has done well for me.
This Tempress outfit sells Fish On - Rod Holder/Base sets only. They do not sell the Rod Holder separately. These Rod Holders sink like a rock. So if you ever have to replace one you will have to buy the whole setup. My boat had 4 bases installed when I bought it, but no holders. I had to buy the whole kit x 4. Now I have 4 bases sitting on the shelf. Oh BTW, THEY DO SELL BASES SEPARATELY!!
Fish On changed removed the cap from the mount. This makes it difficult to retain water tight integrety for the area under the mount. The directions also called for a 1.25 inch hole to be drilled for installation. The hole size needed was in fact 1/8 of an inch larger. It made installation very hard for the first mount.
I have used Fish On Rod Holders for 20 plus years. But these are my last ones.
