well made. needs shims to fit properly hope they can add these later. have to make wood shims to fit correctly

have 4 use them for drift & slow line trolling had same problem with angle justed turned so screw is outside wroked great I guess it s type of gunnelyou have great product would recmond

Aluminum Clam-on Holder

I purchased this product to enable placement versitility. I give a high rating on the material. The aluminum unit seems very sturdy and reliable. I give it a low rating on how it fits on the gunnal. Like the previous review, the unit pitches downword because the clamping mechenism does not reach the outside of the boat under the gunal. I fixed this problem buy using a small block of wood to comesate. I use 2 ton apoxy, and glued the block to the inside portion of the clamp. Now the the rod holder is more level and sturdy to the gunal. I would suggest that they include some different size spacers, and make it so that you can screw the spacers to the clamp to conpensate for this problem. The tighting screw could be larger in diamiter. Hopefully it will last.

Discription states fits rails up to 1-11/16". The clamp as sent states on package, up to2-1/2". Cabellas claim they made a catalog error or there was a manufacture change. On my 14' starcraft the clamp when tightened down had a 45 degree angle to the water..........might be a great product on a bigger rail/gunnell.
