These Siwash hooks are excellent replacement hooks for spoons, spinners or plugs. They have an open
eye. A unique tempering process and high-carbon steel construction ensures superior strength and
durability. The sticky sharpness is the result of a patented mechanical needle-honing process
developed to ensure you get the sharpest hooks possible.

I have fished the Unalakleet River in Unalakleet Alaska for silver salmon 6 times since 2000. Since that first year I have always switched my treble hooks, whether the lure be a Pixee, Flying C, Syclops, Mepps, or Flashtrap Spinner to 2/0 Gamakatsu Single Siwash hooks. Its not a legal requirement...its just the RIGHT thing to do. Much less stressful to the fish in unhooking and releasing, must less stressful on your Guide, and much less potential for driving a treble into your hand or fingers. These Gamakatus are high quality...extremely sharp! And almost always hook solidly in the jaw.
Cut the treble off a #5 Aglia or Black Fury and pinch on a 2/0 hook. Add a 3" twister tail. This is my spinner rig for Lake Michigan Skamania (Steelhead) and Chinook.
These hooks work great as replacements for the treble hooks on plugs for catch and release fishing. Simply remove the split rings and treble hooks from lures and close an open-eye hook directly on the loop where the split ring was attached. This will align the hook corectly with the lure. (attaching closed-eyed hooks with split rings places the hook at a 90 degree angle to the lure.) The single hooks are much easier (and safer) to remove from fish.
