Daiichi D16Z Bleeding Bait Octopus Hook

Ideal for use with live bait or cut bait, these wide-gap Octopus hooks offer solid hooksets and keep bait firmly attached. Each hook has a high carbon content for strength, and the low-profile barbs are extra sharp. These hooks are forged with an up eye. The red Bleeding Bait color resembles an injured baitfish, coaxing larger predator fish to strike.
Sizes: 8, 6, 4, 2, 1/0 (per 12); 2/0 (per 6); 3/0, 4/0 (per 5).

great stick-easy release

Fish farm ponds and Table Rock and had great hooking results. What I like best is that it seems to hook bass in the skin inside the upper mouth and I never have to kill a bass when released.
Works well with wacky worms and small plastics.

one sharp hook

I have used many brands of hooks over the years but daiichi octupus hooks are the hardest to remove from both a fishes mouth and my finger

Excellent with live minnows and Steelhead

I got a package of these hooks in size 8, for use when fishing for steelhead. I have fished the hooks with egg sacks and hooked minnows through the lips to live-line them for steelhead and these are the best hooks I have ever used. These hooks have tremendous hooksetting and holding power and I have never had a single one come out of a steelhead.
I experienced none of the dulling or bending that the other reviewer experienced.
each hook was used until it was lost by line breakage and the hooks successfully landed multiple fish over 10 lbs.
