Tumble Drumm Fish Scaler

Make the chore of scaling fish fast, easy and clean. Simply add water to the tub, load your catch into the stainless steel drum, turn on the motor, and this automatic fish scaler removes the scales from the fish in minutes. After the fish are scaled, lift out the drum, open the door and pour the de-scaled fish out. The small size will scale up to 50 small panfish at once in its 18"-long drum. The large model has a 26"-long drum and will scale fish up to 22" in length. Use indoors or out. Plugs into a standard household outlet. Made in USA.

Well Worth the Wait
Date:
Been wanting to give this unit a try for some time on blue gills. Thanks to a very generous wife I now have that opportunity and just finished with the clean up of my first batch of gills taken yesterday. Ok, I might have given the scaler a "5" rating but that would mean perfection. Although the scaler got 95-99% of the scales off, the fish weren't scale free at 100%. But it made the follow-up a breeze only taking about an extra 10 seconds or so to go over each fish to make them scale free which is a far cry better than having to do the job completely. Let's face it, the taste of a gill is in the skin. Throw that away and lets hope you have a lot of tartar sauce. But by scaling them, it adds to the flavor ten fold. I left about a dozen like size gills in the drum for 10 minutes. Check them and they still needed a bit more time. An extra 5 minutes was all it took to get them where I needed them. I believe crappies would only take 10 minutes but don't hold me to it.(yet!). Clean up went very nicely and all was done with a garden hose in only a few minutes. Winter clean up might be a problem if you don't have a place to rinse it out indoors. Make sure you check inside the drum. You'll find some fish fins caught in here and there but no big deal. Well worth the wait and would recommend it to anyone who loves the taste of gills with the skin on.

The wife and I enjoy catching pan fish from our stocked pond in our back yard. This product works great.Fill the, pan with about 1/2"of water above the bottom of the drum, put in 25 nice sized gills, turn it on.Come back in 15 mins. to well scaled fish. Then we use our fish and game cleaning table that we bought from Cabela's.to finish up the job.Cleaning is a snap.It does take a bit longer for perch as we expectedit would.Well built and very easy to use and clean.
