Not so great....

Had high hopes for this product. Even watched Youtube videos on it. Seemed good so I bought one.

You have to apply just the right amount of pressure to get good sparks but not dig the scraper in and prevent movement and/or make a gouge in the bar. (Maybe with practice I'll get the technique down better, but I was buying this as a backup that wouldn't require technique)

Also at least for my big paws It isn't quite so easy to operate one handed.

The main drawback though is the pop out bar pops out very very easily so if you drop it in your pack carelessly it will pop open. A thick rubber band or a piece of electrician's tape might do the trick.

I think this product would work best in conjunction with a Magnesium starter.

Over all though I think I would recommend a plain fire steel such as the Light My Fire product instead.

Anyhow, that's just my 2 cents on it.
