Cabela's Super Tanker All-Weather Lighter

  • Hot, 2,000°F flame
  • Works even in high winds of 78-80 mph
  • Large fuel capacity for over 1,000 ignitions
  • Easy, one-hand operation
A survival situation is not the time to find out your lighter isn’t up to the challenge. Extreme conditions demand an extreme lighter, and our Super Tanker will deliver a clean, hot, 2,000°F flame when you need it most – even in winds of 70-80 mph. Its extra-large fuel capacity gives you more than 1,000 ignitions on a single fill, and a fuel-level window shows how full the lighter is. A piezoelectric ignition system eliminates the need for batteries or flint and functions reliably, even in wet conditions, and can easily be operated with one hand. There’s a flame-indicator window on the side of the combustion chamber that glows when the lighter is ignited. A water-resistant O-ring seals out water when the lighter cap is closed. The easy-grip rubberized case makes the lighter easy to hold onto in slick conditions, and a wrist lanyard will keep you from dropping it.
Fuel capacity: 4 grams.

I bought this with a Christmas gift card. I do not do as much camping and conoeing as I use to , but still get out there a couple times a year. I usually just carry a regular grill lighter and back up matches.. I live in Pueblo, Colorado so we are starting at 5000 feet. When I first filled it, it would not do anything for 30 minutes expect hiss at me, no spark. After that it finally lit, good hot flame that no doubt would hold up to the wind. Having tried it several times since then, the jury is out, sometimes it lightes, sometimes is doesn't. I usually do a hiking trip up Pikes Peak every summer with my son in law, kicks my butt, but if I died up there, so what. I will let you know how it works at 10,000 feet. We camp half way for the night, if it works there, then maybe a few more stars. Glad it was a gift at this point.

I had hoped for a good reliable lighter, especially since it was priced so much. The first one did not work every time . Had to turn it upside down to get it to light.
Returned it and tried another one . Bought a new can of butane and had similar and even worse results with the second one. I would not recommend this lighter even if it cost 80 per cent less..
