Magma Cutting Boards

Ideal for filleting fish or for food and beverage service, these nearly indestructible tables are crafted of FDA-approved, UV-stabilized, high-density polyethylene. They do not absorb odor, will not crack or mildew and are virtually maintenance free. They conveniently fit into any flush mount rod holder. The tables have two fillet knife holders and a fishing pliers receptacle, along with a rear drainage slot. Much more sanitary that wooden cutting boards.

Only one problem. It will not stay sturdy. You will have to do any cutting directly over the support pole or it will tip to the side. Lock down mechanism not tight enough to hold side pressure. I'm going to order or make some kind of secondary support. Cleans up nice.

Fish or cut bait

We
put the board together in a few minutes, went out to the boat, slipped
it in the rod holder, went 4 miles into the Atlantic, caught lotsa fish
(nothing to do with the board), but used it to cut bait and clean fish.
Worked better than expected. Loved the leveling ability!!! Sure and
tight!
It was a gift for my fishing partner's 28ft Regal, he loved it!
Thanks, Cabelas did it again!!

Good Quality Cutting Board

I chose this board because of reviews of other cutting boards mentioning poor quality locking mechanisms in the support rod joint and was not disappointed. The quality of the locking mechanism and the whole cutting board assembly was very good.

There is no single rod support for a cutting board that fits all existing rod holders, but this one comes close. The s.s. guard rail on my transom prevents the cutting board rod from engaging the rod holder more than a few inches, so I'll need to take one rod holder out and replace it with a taller one. No big deal as mine are made from PVC pipe (no $80 rod holders for me).

With a towel across it, this board doubles as a stand for my two burner propane stove.
