This is the single most impressive knife in my collection, its beautiful and on top of that I did multiple deer start to finish without having to stop. FINALLY!! I know it's a rough price but spend it, ive never been happier with a knife.
I thought this fancy S30V would be much better. Sad to say, it cost over ten times as much but doesn't hold an edge much better than my old fillet knives. On big fish it is no improvement at all. It's real pretty, but I don't see that I got my money's worth. About $50 might be a fair price.
I know the price tag is hard to swallow, but if you want a great fillet knife, it's worth it. It a very good looking piece of cutlery. It balances very well, feels great in the hand.
If you're not familiar with the S30V steel, it is hard to beat. Holds a great edge, sharpens easily, doesn't rust.
The sheath is a pleasant surprise. Well crafted and matches the knife's good looks.
To top it all off, it's made in America by a company (Buck Knives) that's not afraid to put the gospel message in their packaging.
I must admit I had a hard time bringing myself to pay this much for a fillet knife but after receiving it and using it, I couldn't be happier. I couldn't wait to catch some fish and try it out and believe me this fillet knife is worth the money. The cherry wood handle on this knife is gorgeous. I would defiantly recommend this knife if you are looking for the "ultimate" fillet knife.
