The blades are crafted of CR17 stainless steel rated at 57 Rockwell for amazing edge retention. And this alloy is easier to hone to a razor's sharpness because it contains nickel, vanadium and tungsten. The handles have laminated hardwood scales and stainless steel bolsters for superior longevity. Each has tough, full-tang construction. A leather sheath is included. Sizes:
This knife is sharp right out of the box. Not only is it a great knife for It's intended purpose, but It's perfect for chores in the kitchen. I use mine all the time. I keep it sharp with a few swipes on a steel.
Well I wanted a nice fillet knife for less.... this is it! You won't be disappointed by the quality and sharpness of this one. Great knife for the price. I just wish salmon season was open again...
best fillet knives for any price. have used every fillet knife known (i think), and these are the best i have ever used. they are well made, and super flexible. they contain an alloy known as vanadium which makes them very hard, but still very flexible. also vanadium/steel alloy is much more resistant to certain types of corrosion. (stainless steel is not corrosion proof just corrosion resistant.) any flllet boy knows that flexibility is everything in a good fillet knife. would recommend to anyone. my favorite is the 6 inch model for bass, and panfish. even use it for salmon/ssteelhead. i currently own 7 of these knives, some of which are 6 or 7 years old with ALOT of use. keep them in boats, float tubes, camp gear, kitchen, etc. they are not as inexpensive as they used to be (what is?), but are still a bargain. a must for any serious fish filleter! one more note. be careful with these, they will definitely remove body parts from the user too if you are not paying attention. they are equal opportunity weapons!
