The original lock-back knife, the 110 Folder sports a 3-3/4" clip-point blade crafted of S30V steel with rosewood scales. Developed by Crucible Steel, S30V is made up of metallic powders fused together under intense pressure and heat. It is tempered under extremely high temperatures then cooled in a cryogenic freezer. The resulting metal delivers a fine combination of edge retention (45% greater than 420HC), flexibility and hardness (59-61 Rockwell) while remaining easy to sharpen with conventional stones. This steel also has a high chromium content for oxidation resistance. For even greater corrosion resistance, each knife is treated with a titanium aluminum nitride coating. Our field testing and independent Cutlery Allied Trade Research Association tests prove these knives outperform those crafted with other blade metals. Comes with a leather sheath. Made in USA. Folded length: 4-7/8". Weight: 7.2 oz. Available: Rosewood.
This is great knife. I have Buck, Gerber, WR Case, and a couple others. The steel on this knife holds an edge way better than any other knife I have. I have skinned 3 bucks with it this year and it still feels razor sharp. I recommend this knife to anyone looking for a new hunting knife.
I use this knife to peel raccoon, deer, rabbit is very good does not lose its edge as fast as others and is an excellent buy and I would like to thank Cabelas to return to sell these knives folding in Gut Hook rosewood color wood.
Pros: Very good blade, extremely sharp out of the box
Cons: Wood handle red on one side and brown on the other. rivits that hold wood and mechanism together stick way out from the sides. Never seen another knife like it.
First item in the "Alaskan Guide" line that I would not recommend. Simple to fix: quality control!
