Metz Grade 2 half neck hackle is ideal for tying dry flies in a wide range of sizes. Perfect coloration, web-free hackle fibers and extremely long feathers are some of the features that took years of selective breeding to achieve.

about as good as you can get off the cabela's site, but I dont care for the sizes much, and the number of barbs is weak compared to certain other brands (thinking colorado brands here). Overall will work and the price is cheap enough, but far from the perfect hackling. Good if you are beginning fly tying since it is somewhat cheap, or if you are experienced enough to deal with having to put on extra wraps
Got desperate and had to purchase these because the hair girls are buying up everything and you can't find a Whitting/Hoffman on a dare. Most flies I tie are 14,16,18 range, most are 16's, and I thought a #2 Metz would be just fine and have used them before. I was a little let down when I saw how far down on the neck I had to go to get a 16 and how few feathers there were in that size, even less in the 18 range. If I were tying 10's and 12's it would be fine but with the few feathers I am able to use the value just isn't there. I bought 2 half necks, brown and Ginger and they got me out of a bind but I really hope this feathers in the hair craze goes away soon so I can get some quality hackle.
This is the fourth Metz Dry Fly Neck - Grade 2 Half Neck I have bought. I use the hackles for sizes 10-22's. I will deffiently order more in the feature!
