Description: W.W. Greener DH55 12 Ga. This classic boxlock from one of the icons of British Gun Making has beautiful fine line engravng and fine checkering.  The 30" Damascus barrels are choked Improved modified in both barrels and chambered for 2" Black Powder shells.  The bores are bright and smooth, but there is some light pitting present and the right chamber shows minor corrosion from a wet paper shell being left inside.  The reflections are concentric.  The barrels, based on measurements, appear to have been repolished, reducing the constriction to about .025".  The wall thickness at the muzzles is .050" minimum ranging up to the low .060"s.  The barrels lock up tightly with the patented Wedge Fast System and the famous Greener Crossbolt.  The safety is the classic Greener sidemount type.  It has selective ejectors.  The barrels show considerable wear to the finish, the action less so.  The bottom plate retains its Nitre Blue finish.  While  the wood is dark with age, it is at least Extra Fancy Walnut, perhaps even better.  The Inital plate on the belly of  the stock is engraved G.J.Browne.   The trigger guard is set for right handed shooters.  The toe tilts out about 1/4", though the heel is centered.  This gun presents very well, and should be a fine addition to any pheasant hunters battery.  2" Black Powder shells are advertised in Double Gun & Single Shot Journal.  The barrels chime like church bells.
