I bought this for my son who is highschool . Thought it would be handy for him to take on hunting/ fishing trips with his Dad, When storms are in the forcast its small enough for him to put in his pocket and take to school . On March 2 when tornados came he was prepared ! I'd reccomend this to anyone .
My wife and I recently took this radio with us camping in the mountains of Idaho. We got "ZERO" reception at lower elevations or in tree cover. The only reception we got was at the highest surrounding elevation and then holding opposite arm and leg in the air. Even then the reception was sporadic and we missed the forecast for our area and had to wait for it to come around again. Certainly would have been scary if this would have been an emergency weather situation. Example of getting what you pay for.
Thank you Cabelas for having these radios. North Carolina has had it's share of bad weather over the past several weeks, and mine came on each time and gave a warning. Loud and clear. I'm going to order another to have in the other end of the house.
This little weather radio is perfect for staying on top of up coming storms, wind directions and pressure readings. Helps me know what stand i'm giong to next. Fits right in your pocket and can go with you any where.
