Constructed of marine-grade, powder-coated aluminum, this
simple-to-install bracket allows you to mount your transom transducer to
your trolling motor. Fits transducers made by Lowrance, Eagle,
Humminbird, Bottom Line and Zercom. Designed for use on Minn Kota
and MotorGuide trolling motors.
I read some of the bad reviews about this bracket and kind of took it with a grain of salt. I can usually get anything jerry rigged somehow when I put my mind to it, and was able to do it with this thing, but I sure wouldn't recommend doing what I had to do. I have the 597 gps/sonar unit and the transducer that comes with it doesn't even come close to fitting in the bracket, but I figured with the bushings that they give you and maybe a few washers I could get it to work, and it would, but theres nothing to hold the transducer in place. Theres nothing to prevent it from just pivoting on the bolt, so what I ended up doing is cutting up the rear boat mount the comes with the depth finder and drilling another hole in the bracket and mounting that to the trolling motor bracket, and then mounting the transducer to that. It works fine, but its a lot of work to go through.
Rig Rite Trolling Motor Transducer Mount works great for the Humminbird 160, fastened onto the fan body of a Minn Kota Endura 30 trolling motor (which was bought from Cabela's).
This is rigged on a model XR116GTX inflatable boat (11ft, 29 grade PVC), loaded up with 400-600lbs.
This is my first fish finder experience, and I am not a master of mounting the transducer/sonar sensor of fish finders -- that said this was REALLY EASY TO USE.
The Rig Rite adapter goes right over the fan-body area of the motor with a metallic band clasp, which tightens via one flat-head screw, and the spacers that come with the Rig Rite kit DO NOT FIT EVERY TRANSDUCER PERFECTLY. Some minor modification or cutting of spacers may be required.
The spacers go on the Rig Rite's metal adapter, which is held on by the metallic band, and you must insert the bolt that comes with the Rig Rite through the metal adapter, and then load a spacer, then the transducer, then another spacer (in theory) and then push the blot through the other side of the metal adapter and fasten the nut on the outside of it. Not very hard at all... just explaining that the SPACERS are general widths, which may have to be twekaed to server your fish finder's transducer-mount-size.
In my case, my transducer-mount was too small, so I needed a little extra spacing, and I did not want to make any cuts to the factory spacers.
However my Humminbird 160 came with a wooden or aluminum boat hull mounting kit, and inside the kit, there are other "notched spacers" which fit the transducer naturally and perfectly.
This whole installation was honestly a piece of cake - the Rig Rite Trolling Motor Transducer Mount is simple, well made, does the job well, and my fish finder was detecting fish and lake levels at all speeds (forward and reverse) when we set out on the water.
I would buy this again if I needed to replace mine.
After literally reading every review and looking at every product, I settled for the Rig Rite. I love the fact that it is all metal construction and even though I had to trim the spacers for my Humminbird PiranhaMax 170, it was well worth it! VERY sturdy and no interference from the 55lb Endura!
This mount worked great once the spacers were modified slightly (ie. cut down a bit). I used it with a Humminbird Piranha Max 150. Had to provide my own zip ties, but otherwise I'm very happy with the product.
