Not all it is cracked up to be.
Date:
This can not support a 55 lbs trolling motor. When turning full bore the motor slides up. I almost lost my motor in the river. I would guess a 30 lbs. motor is the max this puppy can handle.

Great way to lose a motor !!
Date:
Clamped this "thing" on the bow of my 14 Alumacraft TIGHT !! So tight I was afraid it was going to break the "thing". I have a Minn Kota 65, 28 lb and a Minn Kota Traxxis 55 lb. Tried it with both. The 28lb kinda sorta stayed on but wanted to "ride" up in a turn regardless of how tight it was clamped on. BUT the 55lb really did a number on it !!! Just about lost my motor when I maxed out the power. The sliding bracket plate on the front popped loose and the whole entire bracket (thing) shifted forward and was just flopping. I "gently" returned to the ramp holding my motor on with one hand.
Regardless of the thrust motor thou, the clamping surface is too slick for a secure mount and who knows what it would do in rough water. I returned for a refund. AND this "thing" is big and clunky and UGLY too!! I have a big V bottom striper rig with a MK Powerdrive 80lb and 115 Honda and I know my way around a boat. This Alumacraft project is for my teenage son and he hates it too. Taking it this week for a fabricated welded mount. Trust me....... don't buy this.

Works great!

Once you get the mounting plate set up, it is very stable
and strong enough to support my 55 lb trolling motor.
The only problem I found was that the portion of the mount
that the trolling motor clamps to has too smooth of a surface. This allows the trolling motor to ride up on one side during a sharp turn under power.
