This patented remote steering system puts you in total control of your motor from anywhere on the boat. The compact remote is completely waterproof and can be used in any weather. It will also float, so it’s easy to retrieve if it goes overboard. The CoPilot System lets you control your motor from both the wired-in foot pedal and the compact remote-control fob. Five easy-to-use buttons increase or decrease speed, steer left or right, and turn your prop on or off with just a touch of your finger. This model of the wireless CoPilot is engineered for use with PowerDrive V2 and SP Riptide motors. This unit is for 2007 models or newer. Comes with lanyard and carabineer.

I put this on my Christmas wish list and my wife was kind enough to buy it for me. I've not tried it on the water yet but I'm sure it'll be very handy. During installation I ran into a couple minor issues- the bolts coming up from the mounting plate to the quick release got in the way, so you cannot full install the wireless receiver. The other issue was if you are not careful the longer screws provided may bottom out on the trolling motor casing. When I tested the unit and went to put it back into the locked position, I gouged the framework. Easily fixed but just want you all to be aware. This was on a 2007 Smokercraft, so maybe it is something to do with how they were installing the Minn Kota units back then. Anyway it works, I'm a happy fisherman looking forward to spring fishing!

After a short time of use, I must say I really am glad I got the co-pilot. I use it zip stripped to my fishing pool and it is always right there ready at my finger tips. Great product.

I was skeptical at first but I decided to give it a shot.
This unit is very cool, simple to install, and in many ways it's even easier than using the foot pedal.
My initail reasoning on purchasing the copilot was for less "things" laying on the boat floor which this unit accomplishes nicely.
Now I'm hooked on the rod mount (included) for the remote. It makes it simple to make movements while casting and I think it's easier to actually steer with the remote than it is with the foot pedal. Since mine is installed on a Pontoon boat, it gives me the freedom to move about the boat and still maintain control. The other nice feature is that you can use the remote along with the wired foot pedal if you so desire. Also worth noting is there are slight audible "beeps" indicating when the prop is on/off etc. these beeps are customizable as well with 3 differenct modes to choose from. Last but certainly not least the remote floats.
If you're on the fence about buying this I think you'll find it useful as well as being cool so go for it.
Now if I can just break the habit of reaching my foot for the pedal I'll be ok.

highly recommend. works well and easy to use. very helpful. at first very hesistant to spend the extra $$ after the purchase of the trolling motor, but very worth the $$.
