Minn Kota® Maxxum™ MKA29 Bow-Mount Stabilizer Kit – Side Mount

  • Stabilizes motor in heavy chop
  • Protects motor in stowed position
  • Tested in saltwater conditions
Reduces bounce from heavy chop or wake when motor is in stowed position. Fits Maxxum Pro®, Maxxum, Riptide Pro and Riptide bow-mount trolling motor. Attaches between upper and lower arm of mounting bracket. Pivots into vertical position when motor is stowed and rotates into horizontal position alongside upper arm when motor is deployed. Tested in saltwater to be fully resistant to corrosion.

I originally had the center mount stabilizer,and was very unhappy with it. The trolling motor would bounce so hard it seemed as though it would pop out of it's stowed position while you were running. Not a good feeling at 35 knots.
On the first trip out after purchasing and installing the side mount stabilizer,I got caught in 5 to 6 foot seas. The trolling motor was as solid as a rock in the stowed position,there was virtually no bounce. I am very impressed with the way this product solved a problem I thought I was just going to have to live with. I highly recommend it.

The Minn Kota Bow-Mount Side Stabilizer Kit for Maxxum trolling motors. I have had problems with my trolling motor shaking out the pin that holds the upper and lower trolling motor brackets together. I had to replace both the lower bracket and the pin due to the vibration from the trolling motor flopping around when hitting the waves. The strap just is not enough to stabilize the motor from flopping around. It took about 10 minutes to install very user friendly directions. I have had my boat out on the lake 3 times since January and I have noticed that the motor is stable. Before it would flop around like a rag doll in about 1-2 foot chop; but now it is solid as a rock in 2-3 foot rollers. The price is a little high but if you add up the 100+ dollars I spent on fixing the trolling motor it is well worth it in the long run.

The product was installed on a 16.5 foot Alumacraft Yukon. Unfortunately, the metal rods that extend thru the Trolling Motor were not long enough to allow the stabilizer bar to hang at a 90 degree angle and sit flat on the deck of the boat. Disappointing
