Outdated? Not for me
Date:
Alot of people are now going with the i-pilot wich is a real nice item depending on your needs but the remote is so big you are not able to mount it on a rod like you can with the co-pilot which i love while casting. Could come with a few more rod brackets, but they are cheap and remember that you have to have the speed on alteast one to get your trolling motor started with it, or it will just kick in and out.

The Nuts
Date:
This remote is the nuts. I have a 5 year old Power Drive and I should have bought it when I got the motor but I didn't feel like spending the money then...but i should have. I'm just glad they are selling the Legacy units. You can use either the foot pedal or the remote since they both stay connected. It took about 5 minutes to hook up. Two screws to take off the old side plate and replace it with the receiver unit. Plugs right into the motor.
Fished with it twice already. It's great.

This makes for a nice improvement over the stock foot pedal. The foot pedal is fine, but the great thing with this is:
(1) No cords to trip over or to manage;
(2) We use our hands for fine control more than our feet, so its easier to be accurate with the hand-control wireless fob than it is to tap with the foot, at least it is for me.
My only complaints are that its pricey for the simple electronics, and the neck cord could be a bit longer.
Otherwise, it works very well and is much easier to be accurate with a hand control than a foot control.
