6 Guage wire adapter
Date:
Overall it made the connection to the plug EZ. Its a MUST HAVE part to run the correct wire from the 24 volt system to the bow TM. 6 guage minimizes the voltage drop in the line making the batteries that much more efficient. Ive been standing on the BM motor all day in high winds with my 18 LUND and the batteries AGM"s 27 have been awsome.

works well
Date:
I made the mistake of trying to back the screw out before putting the wire in. It was already out as far as it should go. After I got the screw back in, it held the wires well and fit into the back of the recepticle well. I don't see how this will pull out as others have hinted at. The only thing you need to make sure is that you have enough clearance behind the plug to accommodate the extra room needed (1.5 inches) when adding the adaptor.

I agree with the guy from New York
Date:
I had the exact same experience as the gent from NY above. Not often you get a new yorker and native Bostonian to agree on much. I could have written his review. So far it works but the confidence level for this chinsy piece is very low. Very frustrating to install wires.

Can't Believe How This Is Manufactured!
Date:
Purchased this product because my boat was pre-wired with a Merinco plug and receptacle. The job should have taken 15 minutes max to install the wires in the adapter. An hour and a half later the job was done with the help of a generous amount of electrical tape! First of all the adapter is simply a cheap piece of plastic and when the wires were installed the screws wouldn't hold them in place. Second, the screws actually came tightened down so much at an angle that I had to disassemble the entire unit. Once I got the screws correctly lined I needed a 2nd person to hold the inserted wires and adapter together so the wires wouldn't come out from the chincy screws TRYING to hold them in place. This is were the electrical tape came in, I wrapped the screws of the unit several times and worked my way down over the wires. It remains to be seen how long this holds up after repeated poundings on the water. Am looking for a better product at this time that handles 6-gauge wire.
