Instantly add up to 200 lbs. of extra flotation to the stern of your boat and increase its natural plane for easily penetrating skinny water and mud flats. These flotation pods minimize draft and make your boat float nearly flat by offseting the weight of your motor. They’re shaped to automatically funnel water towards the prop, keeping you moving in the shallowest water. The unique, angled shape of each pod prevents uncontrolled spins and eliminates over-turning. These pods also reduce fuel consumption and engine laboring, while increasing take-off power and eliminating taildrag and transom backsplash. Adds length to the boat making it easier to get on plane. All-aluminum require welding onto the stern of your boat. Sold per pair (left and right).

    I just received my recent order from Cabela's containing the Beavertail floatation pods and I must say that opon initial inspection I was overly pleased with the high quality and precision of craftmanship that the manufacturer put into this product! Included were two T-handle plugs for the drainage and ballast bungs as well as very detailed installation instructions complete with detailed pictures and step by step fitment procedures. The pods that I ordered were the smallest offered by Beavertail and were designed to be fitted to the stern of a 14' to 16' craft. The craft that I own is only 12' in length and only has 36'' at it's beam and a Evinrude E-TEC 25 hanging off the transom, so I knew that there would be issues with the installation in the area of outboard motor spacing since most of the boats outfitted with with these pods are running with Beavertail outdrives or mud motors which sit higher on the transom then traditional outboards. To solve this, I had a friend cut 3'' off of the inboard side of each pod and weld in a new filler plate. Then we welded the pods onto the transom following the instructions on fitment and placement. The instructions also outlined the procedures for bolting the pods onto the boat instead of welding, but we chose to weld them anyway. After installation we brought the boat down to the local launch ramp to check for leaks and also to check the boat's stability and trim. The pods worked perfectly!!! The stern of the boat now sits almost 4'' higher in the water when fully loaded with gear and the danger of taking water over the stern in rougher water is completely gone! I can now even stand up in the aft corner of the boat when fishing and the top of the pods don't even submerge at all. The boat seems to come onto plane much quicker and handles higher speed maneuvers much better then before.
    I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to get more performance and shallow water fishability out of their aluminum boat.
