Superfine Dubbing is a 1.2-denier material that has been permanently waterproofed. Makes very tight bodies for flies down
to a size 28. An easy-to-dub material in some great hatch-matching colors.

It realy noodles easily on the thread. However it goes fuzzy rather than staying like it looked when the fly was first tied like rabbit hair does. Overall it's pretty decent.
Yes, this dubbing is very waterproof and floats a dry as well or better than anything else I've used. Where I really see it shine is on tight bodied wets and nymphs.
I use Superfine exclusively on Gary LaFontaine's Diving Caddis pattern. Gary tied it a bit buggier looking than I do; but in cast after cast comparison throughout the season, on several different rivers and streams, I found that the tight Superfine bodied flies outperformed both in fish caught and durability. If you don't have some of these flies in your box, look up the pattern either online or in his book and tie some up for this season!
In my opinion, Superfine excells in the following...
Floatation Body Taper (easy to tie a cigar shaped caddis body even down to size 18) Durablility Little Color Change When Wet
In a nutshell, this product is the most tier friendly dubbing material I've ever used. While it's not the buggy dubbing I prefer for many of my patterns, it IS the best choice for a few. And that's more than enough reason for me to stock it in my tying desk
