Control your drift with this easy-opening drift sock. A unique combination of lead weights in the
bottom and
floats at the opposite end forces this drift sock to open
instantly when it hits the water. No more waiting for your
drift sock to open - just toss it out and you're ready
to fish. The sock is made of rugged abrasion-resistant
420-denier oxford nylon. The small and medium size drift socks do not have the strap to collapse the sock.

I used this on the west coast Vancouver Island last summer, I usually have problems with drifting to fast out there. My first trip out I picked up 2 Hali's and a 25lb Ling, I am sure it was the sock that helped as my gear stayed on the bottom with out using the kicker in reverse. I recommend getting the biggest one you can as once its in the water it won't make a difference to your fishing space. It folded up and dried nicely.
If you are going to drift for walleyes in the BWCA on a windy day, you can't afford not to pack one of these along. I went with a larger sized sock than recommended for the canoe, and I think it was worth up-sizing. Will never go fishing from a canoe without a drift sock again.
This is the first time ever using a Drift Sock. However this season has been unusually windy in the Ches. Bay. Making the flounder drift a little to fast; requiring extra weight to hold bottom, thus lossing sensitivity for the bite. The Drift sock opens quickly and slows my drift to the current speed over bottom, without having to use fuel. Now that is a plus.
