Plastic
Date:
I got to play with this downrigger for about an hour, the handle snapped off and fell in the drink. Very angry now, I decided to keep fishing reeling in the line by hand. The nut on top of the spoon came loose, slipped off, and yes that too fell in the drink. DO NOT BUY THIS WAST OF MONEY.

Cannon Mini Troll
Date:
I bought two Cannon Mini Troll downriggers before going on a fishing trip to Lake Tahoe. The one I used worked fine, but my friend did not loosen the Spool Knob on the one he was using and broke the handle. You think the handle would be strong enough to with stand that. Also, after he broke the handle he was reeling the cable back in and the Spool Knob unloosened and fell in to the lake. Like I said mine worked fine, but my friend was not impressed. I also had to really search to find a website to find replacement parts, but I found one.

Will not last.
Date:
I bought my Cannon Mini Troll Downrigger last fall and used it once last year. I went kokanee fishing 2 times this year and was trolling at about 20 feet. When I started to roll in my 6 lb. weight that comes with the system, the handle broke off. I have tried E-mailing Cannon and gotten NO response. So to say I am unhappy with Cannon is an understatement.

A big disappointment!!!!
Date:
I bought this down rigger back in February, used it for the first time this weekend,(5/15) it worked great for the first three hours. Then while cranking the cable up the turn handle snapped off allowing the spool to free wheel down to the bottom of the lake, sixty five feet. Luckily I was able to pull the cable back in by hand and retrieved my weight. This unit it is very poorly constructed as far as the material it is constructed from and a huge disappointment. Don\u2019t waste your money on this down rigger, spend the extra money and buy something with a metal body construction. I will now be trying to get my money back and spend more time reading the reviews for my next down rigger!!!!!
