Cannon® Magnum 5 ST Downrigger

This full-featured electric downrigger features a 24" fixed boom, 250 ft. of stainless steel cable, mechanical linecounter, rod holder and single universal line release. It also has Cannon’s fish-attracting fixed Positive Ion Control system. Toggle-switch up/down. Swivel not included.

Much improved from older Mag 5 HS

I am happy with the improvements that Cannon has made on their redesigned Mag 5. The "ST" is quietier, easier to control, and just as fast as the older Mag 5 HS. I have one of each and Cannon did a good job of addressing the complaints described on the older versions customer reviews. My only complaint might be the design of the rod holder that comes with the unit. I would prefer a rod holder that allows the rod handle to pass through instead of "bottoming out" at the bottom of the rod holder. Not a big issue on a lake, but I might use my other rod holders out in the salt.
