i tried the 13 lb weights last year. they worked beautiful. they had very little blow back. and thats why i bought them. i run lite bite slide divers. so i need the extra space these gave me at the back of the boat for putting out the divers. have a great season. oh yea im getting ready to buy 2 more. ....sherman....
The mixed reviews are interesting. I love the pancakes but I have a friend at my club who hates them.
I got tired of trolling 10 and 12lb round, finned weights and seeing how far back my downrigger cables were dragging. Using the heaviest, slimmest weights I can find just makes sense to me. I've used the 13lb pancake weights for years for saltwater salmon trolling. I troll 2-2.5 mph and I stack two rods on each downrigger (Its legal where I live). I space the stackers 20' up from the weight and stagger the depth so I'm covering more of the water column.
Yeah if you turn too sharp you can tangle your gear but thats the case anytime you're trolling multiple lines. I guess that's what fishing's all about, what works for you!
Would never buy these again they do not track as well as I felt they should. any turns need to be extremely slow and wide no fun untangling weights at 100 feet
