I purchased the mold to make downrigger weights to use on trout here in Australia. The mold has timber inserts on the handles which makes it a lot easier to carry the hot mold. The mold makes a good product. The only thing is that the hole in the top to pour in the lead is on the small size and in my view has to be drilled out to a larger size which is a simple job. Since you have to cut off the excess lead from the weight anyway this is not a problem to the finished weight. I would recommend these molds to any DIY fisher person.
On another matter, the first mold arrived in Australia with the alloy handle broken. Cabelas immediately shipped out another at no charge. You cannot put a price on service like that, that is why I only buy overseas from cabelas.
