Have used the release this past year and they worked good. They held up nicely throughout the season, but took some time getting used to attaching the line and setting the tension adjustments. Otherwise, when hooked up and in the water, the release perfomed great.
this is the only clip that will consistently hold the new braided lines at higher speeds. of the other clips I've tried I've had too many premature releases which is never good.
I would not recommend these releases to anyone unless they have 4 hands. One to hold the rod, one to insert the line and two hands to open that miserable clip . Cannon should work out a deal with Scotty to copy their release. Much better. Cannon does have an excellent downrigger though.
I found it difficult to judge how tight to squeeze these releases. One click to much and the fish can't pull it loose. If you test it by pulling on the line it comes out. White Bass cannot trip these releases.
