Cannon Downrigger Mounting Plates and Bases

The Cannon Downrigger Mounting Plates and Bases are available in three models.
The Cannon Deck Plate features rugged aluminum construction. Reinforces Cannon bases and pedestal mounts installed on thin decks and gunwales. Built with machined aluminum and powder coated to resist corrosion.
The Cannon UT/Marlin Base fits Uni-Troll and Marlin downriggers.
The Mounting Base M10/M20/DTIV fits Mag 10, Mag 20 and Digi Troll.

The bases worked well attached to the swivel mounts and withstood the rigors of great lakes fishing while towing a 12# ball in moderate seas.

Expensive and unnecessary for lighter DRs

If you have a manual DR you don't need this. It is a nice piece of aluminum, but unnecessary. Almost any deck is thick enough to support the Easy Troll or the Lake Troll.

Also, if I were to have used it (which I did not) it would have looked funny because the bolts that secure it would have been partially visible after mounting the tab-lock base onto it.

I'd say that if you have a really heavy Electric DR or if you are pulling 15 lb weights it might be what you are looking for, but if you have a lighter manual DR you just don't need it.

Also, it doesn't come with mounting hardware, which you'd think it would at this price.

I put them on my boat and mounted my downriggers to them and everthing fit perfectly. Easy to install. Glad I got them.
