Cabela's Depth Trac Downrigger Line

  • Super-strong, low-stretch braided line
  • Won't kink like stainless steel lines
  • Tracks excellent
  • No crimping necessary - just tie
Super-strong, low-stretch braided line won't kink like stainless steel downrigger lines. This exceptionally strong line makes no noise when pulled through the water, so it spooks fewer fish. Tracks better than regular downrigger lines; won't swing back, stays straight under the boat. Allows you to use a lighter downrigger ball to gain the same depth. No crimping necessary when you change balls, just tie on with standard knots. 135-lb. test.
Sizes: 150-ft., 200-ft. and 400-ft. spools.

Cabela's depth trac downrigger line.
Date:
I normally use all 12lb cannonballs nearly dragging them along the bottom when fishing for lake trout and the only one that broke off smacked into a rock bar on the bottom. The cable humming noise is gone. The line is "sharper" than cable so I often wear gloves when setting the riggers now. Gone are the problems of the cable twisting, kinking, and popping off the spools like a loaded spring when tension is taken off the line. I've had to alter the methods I use for stacking lines on a downrigger, but overall the advantages to this line far outweighs the minor things which just took a little getting used to.

Tough
Date:
First trip out with it I hit the prop with it. While it did fray it enough for me to cut it and splice it, it didn't cut it completely.

Downrigger Line
Date:
We have used stander stainless steel cable for years and put up with the hum as we have an aluminum boat. Going to the braided line we have no hum and the fish count is up.. I would recommend this product to all my friends...
