I have had this tent now for about 2 weeks, I have only slept in it in the back yard so far, but can tell that this is going to be a great tent. Right off the bat I was impressed with the 'feel' of everything. So far everything about this tent says quality:
- The floor and the fly are the same material and are of a decent 'weight';
- The fiberglass poles are thick walled and sturdy;
- They include 2 spare pole sections and a full lenght of shock cord, 2 pieces of patch tape and a bottle of seam sealer.
- The tent stakes are steel.....not super strong but better than the plastic ones you usually get.
- The pole and stake bags are reinforced at the bottoms.
- All the corners and stress points seem to be reinforced and the seams are nicely taped/sealed.
- Color coded set up makes it easy, one person can do it if the wind isn't too bad, two people can do it no problem....I had my 4 year old help me and it was easy!
- The vestibule is roomy and has a partial floor as well as a small window.
- Ventilation is fine.
- A small gear loft is included and there is a ring in the center to hang a lantern, as well as additional loops for rope or larger gear loft.
- The guy line tabs have reflective tape on them.
All in all I am very impressed with this tent. I got the 6 person, and with 4 of us in the tent, all with full lenght thermarest pads it is a cozy fit, we found it best to put everyone on an angle, but there was plenty of room left over for gear at our heads and feet, and there is always the vestibule!
I can't say anything for the waterproof ness as it's been dry here, but others have said it's great so I'm going with that.
I bought a 9x12 heavy duty tarp at local big box store to use a ground cloth, just 4 simple folds and it fits perfectly under the 6-person tent.
I would highly recommend this tent, the quality seems to be fantastic, the size is decent and if you can get it on sale then it's an all around great deal!

Got this tent last week set it up in the yard knowing it was supposed to rain for two days. It rained for two days non-stop sometimes in absolute downpours with strong winds. Not a drop in the tent very impressive. Very well made tent.

PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS
Date:
I just got back from seven weeks on the southern shore of Lake Superior, just my dog and I in the 6 person size. (I would never put six people in it...even kids.) Cold, windy and wet is the norm up there. I have some issues that reduce my rating from 7 to 5 stars. I practiced setting this up before I left and found it was a piece of cake. But alas, I didn't put the stakes in. When I got to camp it took longer to do the stakes than the tent! And when I moved and had to break camp and set up in the same day it was a killer. Please note my age here! I had a lot of difficulty where the vestibule door meets the tent. It never did fit correctly. Never having had a dome tent before I didn't think about not being able to peek out a window without opening a door. I really didn't get used to that. But now for the good stuff! My first rain proved to be a walloping storm of biblical proportions. Rain, hail and winds gusting up to 70 mph! I moved everything that could be damaged out into the van and stayed dressed and awake until it was over (about 3 hours). Needless to say the adrenaline was pretty high. I stayed totally dry and the tent itself didn't shimmy and shake as much as I was prepared for. A few weeks later, sitting not far from the shore with very few trees between, there were high winds for 25 hours straight. It was a long night but once again the tent held strong. The next day, coming outside, I realized the dome was whipping like crazy, but inside the walls were just sucking in and out a little bit. What a miracle of engineering! The dome dries off quickly and there are no stains from all the leaves that fell and birds that visited. I'm soon heading south and looking forward to many more comfy nights.

Good Family Tent
Date:
We purchased the 8 person tent to accomodate our growing family. It also will be used for camping as well as Western US hunting trips. We just got back from an 8 night trip in the Colorado Mountains. Mid September brought lows in the low 40's, lots of wind, and a bit of rain. The tent passed the wind test well. We put it up in gusty winds, it went up well with 2 adults and 2 small kids to help hold blowing parts. It endured several nights of heavy winds well. Structurally it was fine, but maybe a bit noisy in the wind. It did rain some on the trip, lightly to moderately. We didn't have any leaky or wet spots. We felt that it retained heat reasonably well. The main problem spots were the door and vestibule zippers. They tended to catch the flap of fabric that goes over the top of them to stop water leakage. By having to hold the flaps out of the way while pulling the zippers, this made one handed closure almost impossible. Other reviews have noted the thin floor fabric. We placed a tarp under the tent and also on the floor inside, and had no problems even with a cot in the tent and kids playing rough. The only other problem spot was one of the fabric loops for stakes on the vestibule ripped after the first usage. All in all, we were happy with the tent.
