Dock Side® Mooring Whips

Wind and waves will bounce your expensive boat against the dock, and bumpers alone do not offer sufficient protection. Mooring Whips are a practical and effective solution to rough- water woes. Made of the highest quality fiberglass that is totally unaffected by temperature extremes, these whips serve as a spring to hold your rig away from the dock at a safe distance. Bases are solid cast aluminum with a durable, attractive white powder coating. Cleats for spring, bow and stern lines are built in for easy use. Whips remove easily for storage. Included are double-braided nylon whip lines, spring lines and stainless steel hardware. Per pair.
Available:

8’ whips for boats to 18’ and 2,500 lbs.
12’ whips for boats to 23’ and 5,000 lbs.
14’ whips for boats to 28’ and 10,000 lbs.

work well, except in storm,,,need backup

I use the wihps on a 17 ft center console, and they work well, except when the wind goes up to 30 plus and the waves 2 ft plus, then the boat pounds the dock,, I installed a mooring about 10 ft away from the side of the boat and then leave a permanant bouy on it so, when I need to I pick it up and use a bridle from bow to stern and hold the boat a litte more to help the whips, the whips are easier to get in and out on the mooring system is a pain,,,but during a storm it helpfull.

Excellent quality. Exactly as described. I looked at several mooring whips and these are the best, most robost design.

worked great for a while

This product worked great for about 2 years. Then the fiberglass weathered and the top portion broke. I cannot recommend due to this reason.

The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't include the tie line, but I already had some. I have a Grizzly 1860 with a 60HP and it held it in check just fine on Tims Ford Lake (TN) during the busy Labor Day weekend.
