JUNK
Date:
Bought this last Xmas 2011. the display is good and the set up was easy. After two or three days the outdoor sensor didn't read the wind and the temp. I changed the batteries and still had nothing after it was put outside. like they say you get what you payed for.

Poor design
Date:
Gad, where do i start....
Remote sensor transmission range is nowhere near 100 feet, at 30 feet still will not pick up a signal. and I live on 11 acres with the nearest neighbor over 400 feet away,
Wind speed cups would not rotate because the shaft was rubbing against the case, I had to take the sensor apart to fix that by opening up the hole where the shaft enters the case..
Back light stays on for about 1 second, giving you no time to read the display, and illuminates the display very unevenly.
display is useless in normal lighting.
You expect better from Nat. Geo. and Cabelas. If I were not 76 miles from the nearest store It would go back in a flash.
Impulse buys are usually poor decisions. Should have checked the reviews first...

Zero for Two
Date:
Returned the first unit because the remote temperature was intermittent and stopped displaying altogether after 3 days. The second unit is on day 4 and is now intermittent after working well for three days, it is going back.
Lucky it was purchased at Cabelas where they have a great return policy.
Had an Oregon Scientific system for 12 years before buying this unit the only thing that stopped it was a soccer ball to the remote unit.

Dont waste your money
Date:
I got this as a gift from my son. I have had alot of problems with it. Like the sceen not showing wind speed or temp at times. The anamometer was placed on the roof and it has itermittent problems. I have to wait till the roof is clear of snow to take it down now. I Am Not at all pleased with it and wouldnt recommend it.
