Multipurpose solar-powered digital weather radio specifically armed with features for extreme conditions. Large solar panels harness the power of the sun, or use the built-in hand-crank generator to charge the NiMH battery. Digital AM/FM radio tuner picks up AM 520-1710 KHz, RDS-FM 87.5-108 MHz, WB and SW bandwidths. Radio has all seven NOAA weather bands. Large, easy-to-read, green LED screen is backlit for viewing in low-light conditions. USB cell phone charger (USB cable not included) provides emergency cell-phone power while cranking. Radio has built-in flashlight, siren, bottle opener and aluminum carabiner. All of these features are built into a compact, rugged model with a splashproof exterior skin. Audio-line input. Battery charge indicator. Operates in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C.

great flashlight

No shortwave radio or siren. I never could get it to charge my phone, no matter how long I tried. The radio worked sporadically, mostly not at all. The flashlight worked great! Lasted all night on a days charge. Save time and find a less expensive flashlight.

Cabela's description is inaccurate for this item. The Scorpion is a great product but it does NOT have a siren or Shortwave (SW) band reception as the current description indicates. Hopefully someone will correct that.
Aside from that, the radio itself performs very well based on my experience with it.
