Needed a new weather unit when my old one which just gave you indoor/outdoor temps finally died. Picked up this unit since it had many more features and gave you not only temps, but forecasts and dates/times. Brought it home and put the batteries in and did not do anything with it as I had to leave the house for several hours. When I came home I noticed before I even attempted to set anything on the unit, it was allready showing the current and correct time and date! When I read the directions I found that the unit automatically recieves data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology which transmits continuously throughout the US. Very cool! The forecasts so far have been accurate and glancing at the icon of how the person is dressed gives you a quick idea what kind of weather day it will be. Pretty neat little product.
We had a weather station from a different company and one day it just stopped working so we love cabelas so decidedto look at the web sight. Much to our amazement we found one at a really good price! Plus it gives up 10xs the information the other one gave us! We love it! Even our kids love it because "Bob" the man in the middle of the screen tells them how to dress for the weather! We recomend this for "kids of all ages!!"
I bought this for my husband and he loves it. The only problem we have is when the batteries are taken out of the inside unit and reinserted the outside sensor will not register. We have had to go outside and reinstall the batteries for the sensor, then come inside and reinstall the batteries for the inside weather station.
