Love my Vortex
Date:
I believe Excalibur makes the best crossbow and it is fun to shoot. I did accidently dry fire the bow and I did have a hair line crack in the limb. They covered the limb and I was honest with them about the accident. They will back their warranty. But you can't dry fire them . Just a stupid mistake on my part. Boy they really shoot.

Great Crossbow
Date:
After a lot of research on different brands of crossbows I chose the Vortex. The guy a Cabelas set it up for me in about 15 minutes. My first shot in the indoor range hit the bullseye. This bow is awesome. I let my 5 yr. old grandson shoot it a he is also hitting the bullseye at 20 and 30 yds. I can't wait for bow season.

Excellent Crossbow!
Date:
I have had my Vortex since the first year this model came out. The Vortex is easy to shoot and extremely accurate. I have shot several deer with it and it is my favorite piece of archery equipment. It shoots in easily and at 20 yards it is capable of extremely tight groups. I can consistently hit a quarter off a sandbag rest at 20 yards. The crossbows from Excalibur are by nature of the recurve limbs wider than many others, so you must be conscious of the horizontal distance required when hunting. That said, the simplicity of design, the ease at which you can change a string, and the ability to uncock the crossbow without shooting, are in my opinion worth the minor issues that this crossbow presents. I noted one comment about the trigger creep in the reviews. I noted trigger creep in my Vortex as well but I found that I could take the creep up with the safety in the "on position". I have just gotten in the habit of doing that before taking the safety off and shooting. In my opinion the Vortex is a great product.
