Looking forward to summer when the crickets and grasshoppers are out in force. Just toss one of these lifelike imitations into the water, twitch it on the surface and get ready for major action. It's also great for cranking just below the surface. Dives to 3 feet. Size: 1-1/2", 3/32 oz. Colors:(021)Firetiger, (103)Black Cricket, (104)Yellow Grasshopper, (108)Brown Cricket, (109)Green Grasshopper.
I use this on the local ponds/small lakes around my house. It will snag bluegill, or any other sun fish, and it will get the smallmouths too. You have to throw it on really light tackle, so the bigger fish break the line if you don't handle them carefully, but make no mistake, once this thing hits the water and you retrieve it with a stop and go motion, any fish nearby will hit it viciously--even the occasional largemouth. My son, who has just started fishing, used this lure to outcatch me the other day, until I started using it too. All I have to say about this is that it catches fish!
I have been fishing the evening feeding and doing very well with a jig and a power minnow. Then it seems to die off. Switch to the Crickhopper and the bite almost magically turns back on!
It fishes like a bobber, Wait until the fish takes it under before you set the hook. The little sunnies will poke at it, but the slabs will take it all the way. The mini trebles are very reliable and strong. I have caught 20 inch bass on this same lure.
Great size, great realism, sharp hooks, and solid construction. The only off putting part is the green color; it's almost neon green. It looks more olive color in the photo.
